Installation Time
It takes two people 4-6 hours to install one of our base wrought iron kits. It takes longer depending on the height and the options chosen.
Shipping Time
We keep our base kits in stock and we can have a staircase out in 1 to 3 weeks. If you are in a hurry for your staircase please let us know so we can expedite the process.
Types of Finishes
We supply our kits with one coat of red primer. Other finishes are available for an extra charge.
Minimum Floor Openings
The opening size required for each spiral is a minimum of 2 inches larger than the spiral itself. We recommend at least 4” larger. For example, for a 4′ diameter spiral (48”) you will need a 52” X 52” finished opening or if it is round, a 52” diameter opening. For a 5′ diameter spiral (60”) you will need a 64” X 64” finished opening, and so on.
Riser Heights
Riser height is determined by dividing the floor to floor height by an even number of risers (steps). For example, if your floor to floor height is 96” divide that by 12 and you have an 8” rise. Riser heights are slightly higher on spiral stairs than they are on regular stairs because at some point you have to pass under the landing and you need head room clearance.
Information Required To Order a Spiral
When you are ready to place your order you will need to have the following information; the floor to floor height, the diameter and the options you would like. If you are unsure of which options are suitable for your application please call and speak to a representative.
Building Code
Building codes vary so please contact your local authority. Extra spindles can easily be added to our base kit and larger center posts are also available to meet building codes.
Custom Spirals
In addition to our wide range of spiral stair kits we welcome any custom requests.
